What Interior Car Detailing Includes
Interior car detailing is a systematic deep clean of every surface inside the vehicle: seats, carpets, dashboard, centre console, door panels, headliner, windows, and all rubber and plastic trim. It goes far beyond a vacuum and wipe-down.
At our Al Quoz studio, a full interior detail follows this sequence:
**Deep vacuum.** Every surface vacuumed including seat tracks, under-seat areas, boot, and floor mat edges. Compressed air clears dust from vents and dashboard gaps before vacuuming.
**Steam cleaning.** High-temperature steam decontaminates upholstery, carpets, and crevices without chemical residue. Steam at 130°C kills bacteria and dust mites embedded in fabric seats, carpet fibres, and headliner. For Dubai cars, where the interior regularly hits 60 to 70°C when parked, contaminants bake into fabric surfaces over time. Steam is the most effective way to extract them.
**Leather cleaning and conditioning.** Leather seats and door panels are cleaned with a pH-balanced leather cleaner to remove sweat, dye transfer, and grime from the grain. A conditioner is then applied to restore moisture to the leather and prevent cracking. Dubai's extreme dryness and UV-heated interiors accelerate leather degradation: conditioning every 6 to 12 months maintains the texture and prevents the surface cracking that makes leather look prematurely aged.
**Dashboard and trim restoration.** All plastic, rubber, and vinyl surfaces cleaned, contamination removed, and a non-greasy UV protectant applied. This prevents the cracking and fading that Dubai's UV index causes on dashboard plastics within 3 to 5 years on unprotected vehicles.
**Interior glass cleaning.** All glass cleaned with a film-free cleaner inside. Dashboard outgassing from heat causes a film on the inside of windscreens over time. Interior glass cleaning restores visibility and makes the car feel genuinely clean rather than just surface-wiped.
Interior Detailing Prices in Dubai
Interior detail pricing at our Al Quoz studio by service level:
**Standard interior detail — from AED 299.** Full vacuum, wipe-down of all surfaces, interior glass cleaning, basic fabric or leather cleaning. Suitable for regularly maintained vehicles or as a quarterly refresh. Time: 3 to 4 hours.
**Full interior detail — from AED 449.** Everything in the standard package plus steam cleaning of seats and carpets, leather conditioning (leather-equipped vehicles), UV protectant on dashboard and trim, odour treatment. Suitable for vehicles that have not had an interior detail in 6 months or more. Time: 5 to 7 hours.
**Deep restoration — from AED 650.** For heavily soiled or neglected interiors. Multi-stage extraction on carpets and seats, stain removal, full steam decontamination, leather restoration, odour elimination treatment, mould removal if present. Time: 7 to 10 hours.
Prices are for standard sedans (Camry, Accord, BMW 5 Series size). SUVs and large vehicles are AED 100 to 200 more per package. We provide a fixed quote before work begins.
For a combined exterior and interior package (full detail), see our full detailing service page where both are available from AED 549.

Leather Conditioning for Dubai's Climate
Leather interiors in Dubai deteriorate faster than in any other climate. The mechanism is straightforward: when a car is parked in direct sun, interior surface temperatures reach 60 to 80°C on the dashboard and 55 to 65°C on the seat surfaces. At these temperatures, leather loses moisture rapidly. Without conditioning, leather becomes brittle, loses suppleness, and begins cracking at stress points: bolster edges, seat creases, and the top of the steering wheel. Within 3 to 5 years of daily Dubai parking without conditioning, cracks become visible on most leather grades.
The conditioning process at our studio uses a two-step approach. A pH-balanced cleaner removes accumulated grime, skin oils, and any dye transfer from clothing. A penetrating leather conditioner is then applied, absorbed into the grain, and buffed to a non-greasy finish. The conditioner restores moisture content and creates a surface barrier against UV-accelerated drying.
For newly purchased or recently reupholstered vehicles, conditioning every 6 months is sufficient. For vehicles parked outdoors daily in Dubai, we recommend conditioning every 3 to 4 months. The cost per session is relatively low compared to the cost of leather replacement, which typically starts at AED 3,000 to AED 6,000 per vehicle for quality work.
Odour Elimination and Decontamination
Persistent odours in car interiors are almost always biological: bacteria embedded in seat fabric, mould growth in carpet undersides or air conditioning systems, pet dander, food residue. Simple air fresheners mask the smell without addressing the source.
Effective odour elimination starts with identifying the source. At our studio, we inspect the carpet underside for moisture and mould, check the boot seal and floor drainage points, and run the air conditioning to identify AC-related smells (a common issue in Dubai where AC runs constantly and drainage can become blocked).
For fabric seats and carpets: steam extraction at 130°C kills the bacterial colonies that generate odour. Hot water extraction lifts the dead bacteria and organic material out of the fabric. This is the most effective single treatment for biological odour.
For severe cases — long-term mould, smoke saturation, or pet odour — ozone treatment is applied after the deep clean. Ozone reaches areas that steam and extraction cannot: the AC vents, headliner, and door panel gaps. It oxidises organic molecules at the molecular level. After treatment, the car airs for 2 to 4 hours before handover.
How Often to Detail Your Car Interior in Dubai
Dubai's conditions require more frequent interior care than temperate climates. The primary drivers are heat-baked contaminants in fabric, leather desiccation, and the dust that enters every time a door opens.
For most Dubai drivers: - **Monthly:** Vacuum and wipe-down. This prevents dust from building up and grinding into fabric and leather with seat movement. - **Quarterly:** Standard interior detail. Full clean of all surfaces, interior glass, basic conditioning. - **Every 6 months:** Full interior detail with steam, leather conditioning, UV protectant, and odour check. - **Annually:** Deep restoration if needed, plus an inspection of AC drainage and carpet moisture.
Vehicles parked outdoors daily in direct sun age faster than garaged cars. For outdoor-parked daily drivers, the quarterly full detail is the more appropriate baseline.
Detailing frequency also interacts with protection: a vehicle with interior protection treatment (fabric guard on seats, UV protectant on dash) requires less frequent deep cleaning because contaminants do not penetrate the protected surface as readily.
