Is PPF Abu Dhabi Different From PPF in Dubai?
PPF Abu Dhabi and PPF in Dubai use the same film products from the same brands. XPEL, 3M, and Suntop distribute their certified products across the UAE, and certified installers in both Emirates have access to the same digital template libraries for every vehicle make and model.
The difference lies in studio infrastructure and installer experience. Dubai's Al Quoz and Al Barsha industrial zones have a concentration of high-throughput studios handling expensive vehicles daily, which builds installer skill at a faster rate than smaller-volume shops. For a standard SUV or saloon, any certified installer in Abu Dhabi will do an adequate job. For a high-value or specialist vehicle, such as a Lamborghini Urus, a G-Wagon, or a Land Cruiser being prepared for resale, the volume of similar vehicles handled matters.
For Abu Dhabi residents who want PPF on a daily driver, a certified local studio is a practical choice. For residents with a high-value vehicle where the quality of the installation has real financial stakes, the Abu Dhabi to Al Quoz drive on the E11 is approximately 45 minutes and worth making.
What Does PPF Certification Mean?
Certification from XPEL, Suntop, or 3M means the installer has completed formal product training, uses genuine film from the manufacturer, and has access to the manufacturer's digital template library for your specific vehicle. This matters in three ways.
First, it guarantees you are receiving genuine film. Non-certified shops may source generic PPF from distributors who do not disclose the actual manufacturer. Generic film is typically thinner, has a weaker self-healing layer, and uses an adhesive not engineered for UAE temperatures. The warranty offered by these shops is only as strong as the shop itself, not backed by a global manufacturer.
Second, digital templates mean no hand-cutting on your car. The templates are cut on a plotter from precise measurements for your exact make, model, and year. This eliminates the risk of the installer's blade scoring your clear coat. Hand-cutting is visible on a film installation only when you know what to look for: fine lines in the panel where the knife ran, usually around door handles, bonnet edges, and boot openings.
Third, certification means the manufacturer's warranty is valid. If the film delaminates, yellows, or cracks within the warranty period, the claim is processed through the manufacturer's UAE distributor, not left entirely at the studio's discretion. See our guide to choosing a PPF installer for a full checklist of what to verify before booking.

PPF Pricing in Abu Dhabi vs Dubai
PPF pricing in Abu Dhabi and Dubai is broadly comparable for equivalent products. The range for full body PPF on a mid-size SUV runs from AED 6,500 to AED 15,000 across both markets for certified film brands. Studios offering full body PPF at AED 3,500 to AED 5,000 in either city are not using premium certified film, regardless of what they tell you.
At our Al Quoz Industrial Area 2 studio in Dubai, pricing for the most common requests from Abu Dhabi clients:
- Partial front (bonnet, bumper, fenders, headlights): AED 2,500 to AED 5,500 - Full body saloon or compact SUV: AED 6,500 to AED 11,000 - Full body large SUV (Land Cruiser, Patrol, Tahoe): AED 8,500 to AED 15,000 - Full body supercar (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche 911): quoted individually
All pricing includes pre-PPF decontamination wash and single-stage paint correction at no additional charge for standard correction. Film brand determines price within these ranges: Suntop at the lower end, XPEL at the upper end, 3M in between.

Popular PPF Options for Abu Dhabi Drivers
The Abu Dhabi driving environment shares most of the paint hazards present in Dubai, with one additional factor: the Corniche and routes along the coast expose vehicles to salt-laden air more consistently than most Dubai locations. Salt does not directly damage PPF film, but it can accelerate corrosion at any exposed paint edges if the film has lifting corners that allow moisture ingress.
For Abu Dhabi residents, the partial front package is the most common starting point. Emirates Road and the Abu Dhabi to Dubai highway carry the same aggregate truck volume as the Dubai sections, meaning the bonnet and front bumper absorb the same chip rate. A partial front installation at AED 2,500 to AED 5,500 protects the highest-risk panels at a cost that is realistic for any vehicle valued above AED 80,000.
For Abu Dhabi owners of white vehicles, which are disproportionately common in the UAE fleet, matte PPF as a colour conversion has grown significantly in demand. The transformation from white gloss to matte on a Land Cruiser or Patrol is a compelling change, and the same film provides full stone chip and UV protection. The cost for a full matte PPF conversion on a large SUV runs from AED 12,000 to AED 18,000 at our studio.
Suntop PPF is produced by Suntop Industries, a UAE-based manufacturer, which means the product is specifically formulated and tested for Gulf climate conditions. For Abu Dhabi clients who prefer a locally-made product with a Gulf-specific warranty, Suntop is a strong choice.
How to Book PPF From Abu Dhabi
Booking PPF at our Al Quoz studio from Abu Dhabi is straightforward. The process:
**Step 1.** Contact us via WhatsApp with your vehicle make, model, year, and the coverage you are considering. We will confirm availability and provide an indicative price range before you make the trip.
**Step 2.** Arrive at Al Quoz Industrial Area 2 for a free consultation. We inspect the paint under specialist lighting, confirm the correct specification, and provide a written quote. For clients travelling from Abu Dhabi, we can schedule the consultation and installation start on the same day to avoid two separate trips.
**Step 3.** We install the film over 1 to 4 days depending on coverage. Many Abu Dhabi clients drop the vehicle on a Sunday and collect it midweek, which fits standard working patterns.
**Step 4.** The vehicle is held in our climate-controlled bay for 24 to 48 hours post-installation to allow the adhesive to cure fully, then inspected under specialist lighting before handover.
For PPF on a vehicle that currently has a Sharjah registration, the process is identical. All UAE-registered vehicles are welcome at our studio, regardless of Emirate of registration. See our complete PPF guide for a full overview of what the installation involves.
