What Is Paint Protection Film?
Paint protection film (PPF) is a thermoplastic urethane film applied to a car's exterior surfaces to protect the paint from stone chips, scratches, UV damage, and environmental contamination. It is the most effective physical protection available for car paint.
Originally developed for military helicopter rotor blades, PPF has become standard protection for luxury and exotic cars in Dubai over the last decade. The film is 6 to 8 mils thick, optically clear in its clear version, and self-healing: minor surface scratches repair themselves through exposure to heat. In Dubai, the sun handles this on its own.

Why Dubai Makes PPF More Valuable Than Elsewhere
Dubai's environment is unusually hard on car paint. The UV index exceeds 8 for most of the year, the threshold at which UV causes accelerated paint oxidation and fading. Sandy desert highways generate constant stone chip exposure from road debris and aggregate-carrying trucks. It preserves the original paint colour and finish while protecting against stone chips, scratches, and UV. This is the right choice for any car you want to keep looking factory-original. Clear PPF starts from AED 3,500 for a partial front installation.
**Colour PPF** changes the car's appearance while adding full protection. Available in matte, satin, gloss, and custom colours. It delivers what vinyl wrap promises but with the durability and impact protection of genuine paint protection film. Self-healing, UV-resistant, and covered by the same 10-year manufacturer warranty. Full-body colour PPF starts from AED 7,000.
**Matte PPF** converts a glossy paint finish to a flat, non-reflective matte appearance. It has become one of the most popular finishes in Dubai over the last three years, particularly on the Mercedes G-Wagon, Porsche 911, and Range Rover Sport. The matte finish conceals minor swirl marks that are visible on gloss paint.
**Satin PPF** sits between matte and gloss: a soft, pearl-like sheen that enhances body lines without the full flatness of a matte finish. Increasingly popular on darker colours, particularly charcoal and navy.
Paint Protection Film Cost in Dubai
PPF pricing in Dubai depends on how much of the car is covered, which type of film is used, and the size of the vehicle.
**Partial front coverage** protects the bonnet, front bumper, wing mirrors, and headlights, the areas that take the majority of stone chip and road debris damage. This is the most popular starting point for cars driven frequently on highways.

Installation at PPF Dubai Al Quoz
PPF installation is done in a climate-controlled, dust-free studio in Al Quoz Industrial Area 2. Temperature and humidity control are requirements for proper film adhesion and a bubble-free finish. Mobile installation in a car park cannot produce the same result.
The installation process: the car is decontaminated and clay-barred to remove particles under the film surface, panels are paint depth measured to document factory finish condition, film is cut using precision plotters to panel-specific templates, applied wet, squeegeed flat, and edge-wrapped where possible. Post-installation, the car cures for 24 to 48 hours before delivery.

All installations include a 7-day quality check: return to the studio one week after installation and we inspect every edge and seam under specialised lighting. Any issues from installation are resolved at no charge.

We install Suntop, XPEL, and 3M PPF. All three carry manufacturer warranties for 10 years against yellowing, cracking, peeling, and delamination when installed by a certified applicator.
XPEL Ultimate Plus is the most popular clear film in our studio. It uses a proprietary top coat that provides consistent self-healing performance and high optical clarity. XPEL Stealth is the matte clear version for drivers who want a factory-matte appearance without a colour change.
Suntop is a UAE-manufactured film with strong UV resistance optimised for Gulf-region conditions. It offers an excellent price-to-performance ratio for standard clear applications.
3M Pro Series is the premium option for customers who specify 3M by manufacturer requirement, common in some fleet and leasing company specifications.
