1. Computer-cut vs hand-cut film. Computer-cut film (using plotters with manufacturer templates) ensures precision fit with no knife contact near your paint. Hand-cut film risks blade marks on your clear coat. Always ask.
2. Climate-controlled workspace. PPF adhesive is sensitive to temperature and dust. A proper studio has filtered air, controlled temperature (18-22C), and bright inspection lighting. Outdoor or garage installations invite contamination.
3. Film brand and warranty. Reputable brands (Suntop, XPEL, 3M) offer 10-year manufacturer warranties. The warranty should cover yellowing, cracking, peeling, and delamination. Ask to see the warranty documentation.
4. Preparation process. Surface prep is half the job. A quality shop will wash, chemically decontaminate, and clay bar the car before applying any film. Skipping this step means debris gets trapped under the PPF permanently.
5. Post-installation inspection. Look for shops that offer a quality check 5-7 days after installation. This gives the adhesive time to cure, and any issues (lifted edges, bubbles) can be corrected before they become problems.

No physical workspace. If a shop operates out of a parking lot or temporary structure, the installation environment is not controlled. Dust, heat, and wind are enemies of PPF application.
Pricing that seems too good. If a shop quotes AED 3,000 for full body PPF on a sedan, they are using inferior film, cutting corners on preparation, or both. Quality full body PPF ranges from AED 6,500 to AED 15,000 depending on the vehicle.
No warranty documentation. A verbal "10-year warranty" is meaningless. Ask for written warranty terms from the film manufacturer, not just the shop.
Pressure to decide immediately. A confident shop lets their work speak for itself. High-pressure sales tactics usually compensate for low-quality work.
